IEA Wachusett Equestrian Team

Holiday Acres is home to the Wachusett IEA Team. What is IEA? IEA stands for Interscholastic Equestrian Association. This organization is special in that it is set up to be an affordable option to horse show and is also a team sport. You do not need to own your own horse to participate! Our team accepts riders from grades 4-12. You do not need to ride at Holiday Acres to join our team. Our head coach, Geralyn Szczurko, started the Wachusett Team around 2006. It has grown from a handful of riders to around 20-30 riders each year. She and coach Beka teach the riders and bring them to horse shows. Once a week from September – December riders practice in a riding lesson and attend horse shows, several being held at the barn. In addition to hosting IEA sanctioned shows at the barn, the Holiday Acres school horses go to many IEA shows throughout the season. When the regular season ends, riders that have qualified continue riding to prepare for post season shows. Our team isn’t just all lessons and horse shows though. We have outings, events, and a Christmas party each year! The kids form lasting friendships and develop deeper riding skills over the season. Interested in joining our team?
