Baloo

Baloo is a sweet, gentle draft cross gelding. He has great ground manners and always does his job. He is an all-around guy, going to horse shows, on trail rides and in parades! He’s a great horse for beginners to learn on.

Beau

Beau has been with us for many years and is definitely a favorite wherever he goes! Pretty much any event the barn does, Beau is involved. He is an IEA favorite, going to many shows including IEA Regionals and Zones each year. In 2024 he was ridden in the Draft Horse Show at the Big E and won his class! Almost every year he get’s ridden in the Rutland Fourth of July Parade. He is kind, always takes care of his rider, and LOVES food!

Cosmo

Cosmo is a schoolmaster and has very comfortable gaits. He jumps courses and has an auto lead change. He is great for the more advanced riders to learn on and will definitely get you noticed in the show ring! We feel lucky to have him in our program and that our students are able to learn from such a classy horse!

Diamond

Cute – that’s what Diamond is! He is a fun pony that you will fall in love with as soon as you meet him! He’s a sensitive pony and likes a soft rider. He’s great for all level riders.

Domino

Didn’t expect to see a mule here did you! Domino is a great riding mule! He will walk, trot, and canter around the ring. He also jumps courses! He’s a blast to take on trail rides and loves galloping on the beach.

Flik

Flik is another student favorite! He is a more forward ride and is always honest to the jumps. He’s in your hand and fun to direct around a course of fences. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, you will have fun on him! He loves treats and will even smile for one!

Flint

This pony will get you noticed in the show ring! He’s fancy and a very good boy. Flint is good for the younger children in summer camp and is also a great choice for a more serious rider looking to horse show. In 2024 he had a successful year of showing, winning champion at many shows, and also winning the New Hampshire Novice Medal at NHHJA Finals.

Goose

Goose is a newer pony to the barn and is quickly becoming a loved school horse! He has a springy trot and big jump, and is a good pony that does what’s asked of him. He is also Flint’s brother!

Keebler

Keebler, like Beau, is a go to pony for just about anything! Summer camp? Horse shows? Parades? He’s your guy! He has been with us for many years and is the most fun pony to ride! He is an IEA favorite and has won Horse of the Show multiple times, including once at IEA Zone Finals. Keebler always does what is asked and never complains. Even with being blind in one of his eyes, he’s trusting of his rider and will always take care of his kids.

Leroy

Another newer pony to our program, Leroy is a goofy, good boy! If you come to summer camp, you will probably ride or see him being ridden during the week. He’s a straightforward pony that will take care of even the smallest children.

Lucky

Lucky has been with us for many years! If you rode him when he first came you might remember him being a spunky horse! Now that he is older he has settled down quite a bit. He is an IEA favorite and goes to many shows each year. He has a very comfortable canter and with his long teeth looks like he’s smiling! Often when a rider dismounts he will nicker!

Midnight

Midnight is a steady boy that is a great confidence builder! He can be shy at first but will warm up quickly to you. He has a small stride and a comfortable canter, making it easier for new riders to learn how to ride.

Penny

Who doesn’t love a palomino? Penny is cute and is currently our only mare in the school horse program! She is a good girl but you need lots of leg to keep her going as she can be a bit lazy to ride.

Pepper

As one of the longest residents at Holiday Acres, Pepper is a good old pony! He mostly does beginner lessons and is a great pony for first time riders! with his white coat he is often dressed up for events. One year for a show around Valentine’s Day his mane and tail were dyed pink and his hooves were painted with pink sparkles!

Rascal

Rascal has been here longer than any other school horse at the barn! He came to us when he was four years old. He was a whole different pony back then and definitely lived up to the name, ‘Little Rascal’! Over the years he has stolen countless little girls hearts with his floofy mane and big, brown eyes. Rascal has won Horse of the Show in IEA and always goes to all the local horse shows. He’s a great pony to learn on!

Reuben

Reuben hasn’t been with us for too long, but is already a staple in the program! He has a comfortable trot and very steady canter. He is flashy with his blaze and socks! He has a tolerant nature and is getting better the more experience he gets.

Ringo came in 2024 and has quickly become an excellent school horse! Although he is still green, he is good natured and willing. He has very smooth gaits! Ringo is bombproof, and loves to trail ride!

Meet our smallest school pony! Romeo is an adorable little pony that is perfect for small riders to learn on. He is a walk – trot champion! He has very good manners and is well behaved for the little ones to handle.

Shiloh

Shiloh came from a killpen in 2018. Having foundered severely, it took a year for him to recover enough to be ridden. Now that he is healthy and carefully monitored, he lives a normal life! His quiet, gentle nature makes him great for beginner riders. He has a very balanced canter and will jump a small course of jumps. If you’ve never ridden an elephant sized horse, you’re missing out!

Meet Spanky! The cutest little draft pony! He came to us in 2024 with Ringo, and is learning how to become a school horse. He is a spunky pony with so much personality!

Winston

Winston is a big horse with a kind temperament. He is good at his job and will help an inexperienced rider out. Like Keebler, he only has sight out of his left eye but doesn’t get bothered with it. He has helped many riders win ribbons at horse shows and was named Horse of the Show at an IEA show this past year. He has done many IEA shows, including Regionals and Zones the past few years.
