About Us

Holiday Acres Equestrian Center was established in 1973. From humble beginnings Debbi & Cliff worked hard together over the years to create a place not just to ride and board your horse, but to grow up in a nurturing, safe environment and learn the love of horses. Our goal here is to help others see the benefits horses have on humans and to improve our riders – both in their riding and in horsemanship. Horses enrich our lives in many ways and we strive to share this with our riders.

There are a variety of things we do here. All summer long we have summer riding programs running. Many new faces come each year to get a taste of what it’s like to ride and love horses! Quite a few get hooked on riding and start up riding lessons, which we offer year round. Some of the more serious riders come to shows with us. We spend most weekends either hosting shows at the barn or off with a trailerful of horses and riders at a horse show.

Our IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Team) team starts up in the fall for grades 4-12. The season runs through the school year and after competing at 5 shows, qualified riders move on to Regionals. From there, if they qualify, they move on to Zones, followed by Nationals. We usually have a large team and frequently have kids qualify for Nationals.

In the spring we always have our Open House, inviting everyone to check us out! On that day we celebrate our elderly horses (25+) and have a birthday party for them. Come ride with us and make memories that will last a lifetime!

Our philosophy

Here at Holiday Acres we love to introduce children to the world of horses! The special relationships formed between a child and a horse develop confidence, teach the rewards of hard work, and build character that lasts a lifetime. We encourage riders to learn at their own pace and we strive to provide a safe place with a friendly atmosophere in which every rider is taught the discipline and responsibility necessary for good horsemanship. For over 50 years it has been our pleasure to lay a strong foundation and to observe and encourage as the individual grows in their love of this sport.
